The Golden Ratio: Jewel of Geometry & Cosmos

Golden ratio, golden mean, divine proportion, phi, 1:1.618…, 

‘precious jewel’, golden section, divine cut – and the list goes on.

This unique ratio (logos) has intrigued and inspired the world’s greatest minds. We see it embodied in the art and architecture of the ancients. It permeates the fruits of the world’s manifold sacred/cultural traditions; the majority of the fruits that we eat also embody a fivefold quality! Euclid (325 – 265 BC) first defines what seems to have been hitherto a revered sacred secret occasionally alluded to within the oral tradition. It is one of the fundamental patterns of creation and informs the cosmos at every level of being. It hovers around the famous Fibonacci sequence (1.1.2.3.5.8.13.21.34.55…) and phyllotaxis patterns. Da Vinci and Durers’ meticulous studies of human proportions reveal an abundance of phi forms.
