SAOG Studios tutors, Daniel Docherty and Vija Docherty, will be joined by renowned Artist/Geometers Clarissa Grandi and Lucie Galvani for this five day immersion in the arts of the late/high European Middle Ages. Explore rose window geometry, the analyses of cathedral plans/designs to determine underlying proportional principles; undertake drawings inspired by medieval bestials and labyrinths; arch geometry, raised-gesso gilding and cosmatesque-style floors will also feature; there will also be the opportunity to make your own set of inks, pigments and paints, based on medieval recipes, as we explore the medieval colour palette …
